My overall experience at the Lineman Institute of the Northeast was incredible. The hands-on training and real-world aspects of overhead line work create an excellent learning environment. When it comes to securing a job, don’t be afraid to apply—there are many opportunities available with utility companies, contractors, and the union. I applied to a utility during week two of the program and received a response just a few weeks later. After interviewing, I was offered and accepted a position while still attending the program, so I had a job ready for me upon graduation. Get your name out there—the opportunity will come. - Liam Buckenroth (SPRING 2026)
Attending the Linemen Institute of the North East (L.I.N.E) has been one of the best decisions I’ve made for my career. The hands-on training, knowledgeable instructors, and real-world environment gave me the confidence and skills to take the next step into the lineman industry. While attending, I’ve been able to secure multiple interviews through a combination of networking opportunities and job leads shared by the school. L.I.N.E also provides a booklet with hundreds of power companies across the United States that students can research and apply to. The support from the instructors and staff has made a huge difference, and I’d highly recommend this program to anyone looking to build a future in the trade. -Logan Madison (SPRING 2026)

While I was attending L.I.N.E I was able to land a job with a telecommunication tower climber because of all the advance task that we do at this school and all of the climbing that we do. L.I.N.E also helped me write a resume so I could land the job we some very specific stuff that’s most climbing companies are looking for.

Going to L.I.N.E. was one of the best investments I’ve made. What once seemed like a big investment now feels invaluable—working in the trade has proven it was worth every penny. The instructors don’t just teach—they connect with you, push you, and share valuable real-world advice, even in casual early morning talks that didn’t make sense at the time but do now. The biggest lesson I learned? Positioning matters, and “GET YOUR HAND OFF THE CROSSARM” is advice I live by daily. Overall, I had an amazing experience and only wish I’d attended a bit younger. I’m even planning to reach out to inspire current students once I
get a day off from work!

Best lineman school out there. You get your certificates and CDL which companies require you to have when applying to jobs. The instructors are extremely knowledgeable and they teach you hands-on skills that will help you start your career in the trade. I’m grateful that hands-on work was prioritized rather than reading out of a textbook like other schools. The office staff are always there for you if you have questions and concerns. If you’re falling behind, the school and instructors won’t ever give up on you till you give up on yourself. I would recommend this trade school to anyone wanting to begin a career in this trade.

My experience at the Linemen Institute of the North East was very positive. The program gave me a strong foundation in both the technical and hands-on aspects of line work. The instructors brought real-world experience that made the training practical and relevant—they’re all great. While attending, I made it a priority to stay proactive about my future by applying to jobs, networking, and taking advantage of the guidance the instructors provided. The structure of the program helped me stay disciplined, and I was able to secure interviews by putting in that extra effort outside of class. After interviewing, I received and accepted a job offer while still attending the program, so I had a job ready upon graduation. If you don’t hear back right away, just keep applying—you’ll eventually land one. Overall, the school helped prepare me not just with the skills needed for the job, but also with the mindset and work ethic required to succeed. I appreciate everything the program has done for me and would definitely recommend it to others considering this career path.”
